Every part of Skorpion OS lives in a public repository, mirrored on both GitHub and GitLab. Below you'll find what each one does, plus a window into the actual repository: click a file to open it on GitHub.

01

Skorpion OS the main project

The project's home: links to the website, the ISO downloads, the wiki and the socials, along with the GPLv3 license that covers all of Skorpion OS.

It also holds the distro's visual identity: the scorpion logo in its variants, the official wallpapers and the theme for the Ventoy boot menu.

Launcher AI-powered launcher for Hyprland and i3

The launcher for the Lite (i3) and Mantis (Hyprland) editions. Search and open applications by category, or ask the local AI right from the same window: answers appear as they're being written, and a request like "open the browser" launches the program.

It includes a multi-calculator with a safe expression evaluator (no eval) and an interactive guide that reads your actual Hyprland or i3 configuration and shows the key bindings really active on your system.

SKAI Manager the local AI control center

Opens with Alt+F9 and manages the AI after installation: it downloads or removes Ollama models (the Qwen 2.5 family or any model from the Ollama library) and turns the local AI service on and off.

With Remote PC you can use the Ollama of a more powerful computer on your network: every Skorpion app keeps talking to localhost, while the other computer does the work. The repo also contains the first-boot wizard, which helps you pick and download a model.

SKAI Files file management assistant

A file manager you talk to in natural language, from the terminal. Ask SKAI to create, read, edit, move, rename or delete files and folders: it works inside its own folder on the desktop, so it can never touch the rest of the system.

It remembers your name and preferences between sessions, and can search the web through DuckDuckGo when a question needs up-to-date information. Everything runs on the local model; nothing leaves your computer.

SKAI for LibreOffice AI in Writer, Calc and Math

Three extensions that bring the local AI into the LibreOffice suite: help writing and rewriting text in Writer, with formulas and data in Calc, and with equations in Math.

The ready-to-install .oxt files are attached to the latest release: download them and add them from Tools → Extension Manager.

An add-on that integrates the local AI into Thunderbird, helping you with email and calendar without your messages ever leaving your computer.

The .xpi file is attached to the latest release: install it from Add-ons and Themes → Install Add-on From File.
